lfw fall / winter 2012 : jonathan saunders

February 20, 2012

I am not going to pretend that I am one of those too-cool-for-words girls who can just wear black and look impossibly stylish and un-boring. I am not even going to pretend that I love black (at least, not more than the average person who understands its slimming superpower). I like colours, prints, textures – done in pretty but interesting ways. And that seems to be exactly what Jonathan Saunders has done for Fall/Winter 2012. He took the prim and smart silhouettes of the country hunt and made them fresh with clashing prints, rich colours and a curious embossed effect. There are still an abundance of his signature geometrics, with a sweet oriental-inspired floral tossed in for good measure. This is a collection that I feel good about almost instinctively.
