shoes : faguo sneakers
A french sneaker brand named Faguo (meaning France in Chinese) is amusing enough for me stop and take a closer look. I spotted these simple, classic sneakers at Terra Plana, Mandarin Gallery last week and just got around to googling it. It turns out that there is more than meet the eye with these nondescript casual shoes – every pair of Faguo sneakers sold translates to a tree being planted on a reforestation site in France! Started by a couple of French exchange students during their stint in China, the project that started out as a bet has since blossomed into a thriving eco-minded business with stockists in many parts of the world. Save the world by buying shoes? Sure sounds good to me!
